The Whispering Pines Cabin Retreat in Murphy, North Carolina is the perfect mountain escape for the entire family or for a romantic couple to get away. This newer, well-appointed cabin includes a gas fireplace topped with a 65" TV, stainless appliances and fully equipped kitchen. Bedding includes a king bed in bedroom #1 with access to the screened-in porch through double-french doors. A "Double-Down/Twin-Up" bunk bed is in the second bedroom to accommodate adults and kiddies alike.

House Rules

1) Please...No smoking or vaping inside the cabin. There are covered, stainless-steel ashtrays provided on the porch.

2) All garbage placed in the outside bin must be bagged. No loose trash please. Garbage collection is on Tuesday.

3) We love dogs! But please indicate the number of pets, sizes and breeds during the booking process. Be kind and pick up after your dog...especially in the yard. Please make a thorough walk-around before departure to insure no "Doggie Landmines".

Note: There is a security camera at the main entrance along with a video doorbell. There is also a camera on the fire pit area for safety purposes. All devices show exterior spaces only and do not view the cabin interior spaces.

The space
You will enjoy Highspeed WiFi, Smart TV's for streaming your favorite apps, 3-burner gas grill, Board Games, an additional Blow up Mattress. Fire pit with 4 Adirondack chairs. We even include some firewood to get you started. Close to many activities including Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort, Nantahala White Water Rafting, Lake Hiawassee Boating and Swimming, Tubing, Hiking, Waterfalls, the Old Bavarian Town of Helen Georgia and much more.
Guest access
Enjoy a scenic drive out of town into our beautiful mountain area. The main road is paved and fun to drive with lots of deer feeding on properties. The road to our mountain cabin is gravel and is easy to navigate. The circular driveway is right in front of our cabin with ample parking. Detailed directions will be provided as your arrival date approaches.

Note: While the living quarters are on a single level, there are approximately 6 steps leading up to the entrance to the cabin. and an additional set of approximately 12 steps leading to the back yard.

Upon arrival, your relaxation begins with easy access by way of a Smart-Lock set to your unique and personal 4-digit code. This same code can be used with the Simplisafe Security System. This allows you to set the alarm pad located near the front door when you are away or when you retire at night and deactivate it with your lock code. Motion-sensitive exterior lighting and security cameras also keep you safe around the clock…but these are only a formality because the neighborhood is wonderful. To insure your privacy, all cameras are outside and mounted in such a way as to capture only exterior areas such as the front door, driveway, back porch and backyard/fire pit area.
Additional notes
Attending classes at John C. Campbell Folk School.? It's a short 15 minute scenic drive. Beautiful Riverwalk and historic downtown Murphy are even closer!

Neighborhood overview
“Whispering Pines” is located in a newer development of cabins with lovely wooded views. When arriving, it may appear that you are on a driveway to a larger home. But just continue along the path and the cabin will be at the intersection of Dawsons Ln. And Carrol’s Ridge on your left.
Getting around
On the way to "Whispering Pines" off of Caney Creek Road, you will find a quaint little shop called "New Old Stuff". You will love browsing their unique gifts and antiques.
